it all starts with a consult
We don't just show up and hope for magic. We plan it.
Once we pick a session date, we will also pick a date to do a consult here at the studio (virtual is an option but highly recommend in-person) to discuss a variety of topics including:
- modesty level
- building your session
- posing
- wardrobe style
During our consult, you will also have the option to try on any of the pieces from the maternity client closet and discuss GLAM.
Professional hair + makeup
Including this into the session was something I really wanted to do for a while and I didn't just want to stop there with it. So I created a space IN the studio that is solely dedicated for my professional cosmetologists to come in to the studio on the day of your session to do your hair and makeup.
That's right, Vanessa or Kylee Jo will come in on the day of your session so YOU only have to go to one place. When you book a session with me, hair + makeup is also automatically booked.
Say goodbye to booking multiple appointments and driving to multiple locations for something you should be 100% present for. Simply come to the studio and we will take care of the rest.
Vanessa Luna + Kylee Jo Bulkley are my two cosmetologists that will come to the studio and pamper you from the get-go. These girls are seriously the ultimate hype girls.
You don't have to know how to pose
If you've ever taken professional photos before, don't worry. You don't need to know what to do with your hands, where to stand, or how to pose.
I will guide you into each pose or prompt. I actually do the posing with you so you know exactly what I'm talking about every single time. I always let my clients know that if they don't want to do a specific pose, then WE DON'T HAVE TO. We will just move onto the next.
No only guiding poses, but your expressions. This is something moms always tell me they don't know what to do with their face. I GOT YOU. I will either show you with mine or guide you step by step.
Choosing your maternity gowns
My maternity client closet will always continue to grow but for now I have a collection of about 25 gowns and silks that are always accessible for you to use for your maternity session. My client closet is available to my clients only and is never available to rent to other photographers or non-clients.

THe art of studio lighting
I love the studio environment because everything is controlled. I control the lighting, colors, movement, temperature, etc.
We can create so many different setups with various lighting, colors, fabrics, props, so that no two sessions look the same. Not only that but I use certain lighting to intentionally complement YOU and your body. My goal is to create something different and unique that fits you.
After all, no two pregnancies are the same.
Live tethering
You can see what we create together LIVE. Straight out of my camera so you have the best idea of what your results are going to be. As we take photos, the images will simultaneously pop up on my ipad where we can both view them throughout your entire session.
I also feel like it's important to see yourself during this process. Moms will say things like:
- I can't believe that's me
- I feel so beautiful
- This is the most beautiful I have ever felt
And I LIVE for that. Hearing anyone say that during a session with me is the biggest compliment and better than any tip.
